about us

We started making jewellery as a hobby. As we developed our ideas, our range of handmade jewellery grew and we organised the pieces into themes, based on the colours of the gemstones used. We take inspiration for our jewellery from the beautiful and colourful landscape of the Lake District.

Some particular gemstones like Hematite have a close historical association with the Lake District, and we love to use these gemstones in our jewellery. There is also a long history of individual gemstones being associated with specific emotions or promoting particular feelings - see our gemstones page for more information. We try to combine gemstones in a way that is sympathetic to these beliefs.

When we came up with the name 2 Gems, it just seemed to fit - we are twin sisters making jewellery featuring beautiful gemstones! We hope you like our jewellery!
